The weather is not the only thing dulling this week, my skin has joined the party. As I might have expected, after a hectic week away now I’ve returned to work, not well rested with a complexion that could do with a boost. There’s a few faves in my skincare toolkit I reach for when I need to brighten up my skin.
The Alpha H Liquid Gold Smoothing and Perfecting Mask is an award-winning salon resurfacing mask which acts as a powerful once-a-week, at home, mini-peel. And my favourite face mask to indulge in in at leisure. The 15% Glycolic Acid exfoliates dead surface cells whilst Manuka Honey, Lavender and Vitamin E work to hydrate and plump the fresh new cells underneath the skin to leave the complexion more radiant. The Alpha H Liquid Gold Smoothing and Perfecting Mask promises to remove unwanted dead skin cells and increases cellular renewal as well as maintain healthy firmer and hydrated skin. Use just once a week to hydrate and rejuvenate skin. Beware though, this makes your skin more sensitive to sunlight so you need to wear an SPF of at least SPF15 daily– I wear 50 every day under my foundation to be extra safe.
On the other hand if I need to lighten up in a hurry, I like to dabble with the Age Smart, Demalogica, Multivitamin Thermafoliant. This really does quite literally polish up your skin. The resurfacing granules really revitalise and brighten up for a noticeable difference from first use. I’m really enjoying indulging in this quick clean treatment a few times a week. It’s just easy results, leave on for just a couple of minutes or even if you just go for a quick scrub it makes all the difference. You can have a quick rub in your morning shower and then enjoy the glow throughout the day ahead.
At the other end of the day, by bedtime I reach for a new find: Vitamin C Super Serum which has been formulated to reduce the signs of ageing by helping reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles, age spots and dull, faded looking skin. It’s packed with key actives to stimulate the skins production of pro-collagen as well as boost the skins ability to induce hyaluronic acid. Meaning lots of natural moisture and hopefully in turn, more radiant skin. It’s advised to be used twice daily after cleansing and as serums are usually more potent than creams to be applied sparingly. Eviternity do warn if you find the serum sticky on your skin after application then you have probably added a little too much – a little really does go a long way. This has a lovely fresh smell of ginger which makes it feel nice and organic. It is recommended to be used twice a day but I have adapted this into my routine as a night serum. Moisturiser under makeup is a must for me in the daytime and I found by the time I had all three applied they were a bit of a grainy mix on the skin. Despite my more moderate application, I do feel my skin is brighter and more radiant when I use the serum. It doesn’t break the bank either at £19.99 and if you are controlled with the drops it’ll last too.
