The weekend is here and we are hungry for it in more ways than one. Tomorrow we will be heading to Tobacco Docks and feasting our taste buds and senses on all kinds of goodness at the Taste of London: Festive Edition. Once the clocks go back, it’s never too soon to start tucking into mulled wine and all the cheese!
The winter edition of Taste of London brings together a whole host of culinary delights, including 22 of London’s top restaurants and a whole host of talented chefs. It’s a foodie heaven with all kinds of tasty workshops taking place all weekend and more than 100 of the UK’s finest gourmet producers to sample and shop from. What better place for dinner and drinks?
Heroes of modern cuisine, including Ollie Dabbous (Henrietta), Jackson Boxer (Brunswick House), Lee Westcott (Typing Room), Sebby Holmes (Farang) and Sam Kamienko (Ellory) will be cooking up a storm live on stage at the AEG Taste Theatre where they will talk what’s hot right now, and unveil the trends of tomorrow.
We’ll be going along for the evening session, fortunately the drinks game is on a par with the foodie action. There’s an array of wines and cocktails, we can’t wait to get acquainted with The Botanist herb garden wall. The brand will be encouraging guests to become urban gin cocktail foragers and concoct their own delicious gin cocktails. While blended malt Scotch whisky, Monkey Shoulder, will be shaking things up with experimental cocktails. If beer is more your thing, there’s even a Craft Beer Trail with a selection of the best beers and ciders from around the UK.
Of course while we are feeling festive we will need to pair our wine with cheese. We’ll be spoilt for choice as The World Cheese Awards are taking place at the event, bringing together more than 3,000 cheeses from around the globe! There will be 260 judges from 20 countries to crown the world’s best cheese and of course we’ll have to try some too!
We’ll be getting some stretchy pants on then – follow our socials tomorrow to see exactly what we get up to! Maybe we’ll even see you there.
