London Cocktail Week: Highlights

Hold on to your hat; it’s only London Cocktail Week! And the now 8th annual event encompasses 250 bars, restaurants and popups accross the capital, until this Sunday the 8th October. A £10 pass will give drinkers access to £6 cocktails in many of the city’s best bars from Monday (October 2) to Sunday (October 8).

But where to go and what to drink? Here’s our highlights:

  1. The Cocktail Village

If you go now where else, make sure you pay a visit to home of London Cocktail Week Itself. The hub in Old Spitalfields Market will be a maze of popups with bars, trucks, bars in vans and every kind of mixer and mixologist you could dream of.

  1. Trash Tiki: Anti-Waste Punk Pop Up

Ian Griffiths (formerly Dandelyan) and Kelsey Ramage have been touring the globe with the tiki bar that uses only waste ingredients. The mission to raise awareness of food and drink waste may be serious but the cocktails are fun! Just a glance at the menu is proof, with names such as –Death to Despacito, made from Bacardi, pineapple champagne and citrus stock. The recycling is seriously sophisticated, economic ingredients include cob syrup using corn cobs, and apple pulp from juice blender waste to create a fab sweet ’n’ sour. All the drinks will be made with waste only from London Cocktail Week Village to create the cocktails for this pop-up.

  1. Garden to Glass at Ham Yard Hotel

This beautiful hotel hangout will play host to a number of boozy pop-ups this week. There’ll be a number of masterclasses held on the rooftop, so you can watch, learn and drink, whilst soaking up the autumn scene. Each session will be using home-grown ingredients, so you’ll get to enjoy the tasty freshness of everything from jasmine, lavender, tomatoes, scotch bonnet chillies and honey, and learn how best to use them.
