I am very lucky that I have the lovely town of Richmond nearby, one of my favourite areas in West London, as well as the lush greenery and the river to enjoy there are plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and of course some great bars to enjoy your favourite tipple.
I have visited No1 Duke Street a couple of times and have enjoyed my experience each time. Owned by the same group who bought No 197 Chiswick Fire Station among others, it has the same smart, sophisticated ambience. Very casual and relaxed to enjoy brunch or a lovely cocktail on a weekend.
Named after the very street in which it is located this relaxed restaurant/bar is tucked just off the high road in the center of Richmond. Offering breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks, there is a main dining area with an airy and contemporary style which is led to by a comfortable lounge bar area, and seating outside on the terrace at the entrance.
No1 Duke Street brings trendy Chelsea vibes to Richmond and is a popular and welcome addition. I made my way over on a Friday evening after work to taste how good the Espresso Martinis were – my new thing after many years of Cosmopolitans. Perfect after work vibe welcoming the weekend. It was busy but certainly not uncomfortably so and we managed to find a table with some lounge chairs to relax in while we chatted the night away.
The Espresso Martinis by the way did not disappoint with a perfect blend of sweetness with a kick. And of course I didn’t abandon my Cosmo – deliciously zingy. It’s easy to get lost in conversation enjoying this relaxed atmosphere as people enjoyed dinner and drinks with a DJ keeping the vibes up tempo.
If you are in West London and thinking of somewhere with nice drinks good atmosphere but still able to enjoy conversation with your friends then No1 Duke Street is for you.
