Keeping the summer going we are exploring the great outdoors once more, or its more commercial counterpart, the garden center, during the sweltering heat a couple of weeks ago it seemed so fitting. However we are not getting out the Zimmer frames just yet, this isn’t just any garden center, its Petersham Nurseries.
For those not well acquainted with this far west of London Petersham is a beautiful little village connected to Richmond. Full of beautiful grand Grade II listed Georgian House’s, quaint pubs, Ham Polo club, if you want to get that country village feel with just a tube ride away this is for you.
Normally a garden center wouldn’t thrill me but there is something special about these nurseries.
Full of beautiful flowers, furniture, gardening tools there is plenty to feast your eyes.
Perfect place to bring a family member perhaps, even a special occasion where you can dine at the gorgeous restaurant. Or shop for the perfect garden furniture.
For a quiet afternoon after strolling around Richmond Park take a turn into the nurseries. They also have some fantastic events like wine tasting food and garden workshops, food walks. So if you’re stuck for something different to do, maybe a romantic date on a summer evening this would be a fantastic spot and afterwards you can stroll down by the river and watch the sun go down – you’re welcome!
