Get The Red Carpet Look

We are finally well into Spring hooray! We leave behind us another fabulous award season from which we can grab inspiration the next time we want to look like a Hollywood starlet.

The NTA’s

In January we saw all the stars of our TV screens flock to the red carpet and finally got to see them all glammed up.

So what was the look of the evening? There was quite an obvious switch from the usual old school big hair, full make up to find the looks stripped back, less of the smoky eye and more of the nude lips and sleek do’s.

There are some great nude lip kits out there to give your look a fresh update like the stars of the red carpet. The ever popular Mac has an array of beautiful nudes to suit all tones and lip liners to match, and the quality is of course top. There is also Mouthy by Megan McKenna, Dimples and Sand is a gorgeous nude shade. It comes with the lip liner and lipstick perfect tool kit for a flawless pout.

Like the NTA’s simple elegance is probably how you would describe the looks of the red carpet at the BFTA’s back in February.

Not a hair out of place. There were a lot of stars who kept their hair neatly swept off the face, using some back combing at the crown of the head sweeping the hair back and over the back combed section, maybe a couple of hair grips and then hairspray to keep the style in place. This look is perfect for the summer months looming when we need our hair off our flushed faces.

Batiste are not only experts in the life saving dry shampoo they also have a wide range of other products to get your hair red carpet ready. This includes the max strength hairspray which will secure your style throughout the day and night! Plus if you want to change, you can brush it through and re-style, simple!

Time to vamp it up! Don’t throw away your smoky eye pallet just yet, The Grammy’s upped the anti. Big hair and heavy lips. Stars on the red carpet there showed us how it’s done. To give your look some more edge add some wash out pastel colours in your hair, perfect for summer festivals and are now hugely popular so there is wide range of products out there to choose from.

Loréal has released a range of spray in wash-out colours, great if you’re having a wild weekend….but need to be back in the office on Monday to adult! There are seven different shades to choose from, a different one for each day! Obviously I picked the pink!3600523386260_T2.jpgThe Oscars

I couldn’t write this article without mentioning the Oscars. The darlings of Hollywood bring us back to sophisticated allure. As well as the trendy slicked back hair, the signature water fall waves were still on the scene. A quick tip, without spending hours curling your hair tip your head upside down, take just the ends and curl about half way up in large sections. Once done flip your hair over, give the ends a good spray and you instantly have subtle end of hair waves (do not know the technical term). There are so many great tools out there to create some gorgeous texture, I like the Trevor Sorbie Multi-Styler. It has multiple tools so you can easily change up your look.

So just a few ideas if you’re going out this weekend, either lunching with friends, date night or out with the girls you can take any of these red carpet looks for inspiration.
